Job Description

National Real Estate Management Group is a full‑service real estate investment firm specializing in investment strategy, acquisitions and dispositions, development and construction, and property management. We partner with investors to identify, execute, and manage high‑performing real estate projects across the full investment lifecycle - delivering disciplined, risk‑adjusted returns while creating long‑term value for the communities we serve.

The Opportunity

This is a senior execution role within our Development & Construction platform.

As a Development Manager, you will lead the end-to-end execution of real estate development projects, including ground-up construction and value-add redevelopment initiatives. You will be responsible for managing timelines, budgets, consultants, contractors, and entitlement processes to ensure projects are delivered on strategy, on time, and on budget.

You will work closely with investment, acquisitions, and asset management teams to ensure each development aligns with broader investment objectives and delivers targeted returns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the execution of development projects from pre-construction through delivery and stabilization
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and financial performance across multiple developments
  • Coordinate architects, engineers, contractors, consultants, and municipal agencies
  • Oversee entitlement, permitting, zoning, and regulatory approval processes
  • Evaluate project feasibility in coordination with investment and acquisitions teams
  • Monitor construction progress and ensure alignment with design, quality, and financial objectives
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, including cost overruns and schedule delays
  • Coordinate with property management and leasing teams during lease-up and stabilization phases
  • Prepare and present development updates, budgets, and forecasts to internal stakeholders and investors
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable building codes, regulations, and contractual obligations
Platform Advantage
  • Direct involvement in value creation across the full development lifecycle
  • Integration with acquisitions, investment strategy, and asset management teams
  • Access to institutional capital-backed development pipeline
  • Opportunity to influence both design and financial outcomes of projects
What Sets This Role Apart
  • Full-cycle development responsibility, not just construction oversight
  • Direct impact on investment returns through project execution
  • Cross-functional exposure to investment strategy and capital allocation
  • Leadership role in shaping physical assets within a vertically integrated platform
Why NREMG

We are not just managing construction - we are executing business plans that drive investment performance. As a Development Manager, you will play a central role in delivering projects on behalf of our investors, ensuring each asset is built in alignment with strategy, budget, and return targets. You will operate within a vertically integrated platform where development, investment, and asset management are fully aligned - giving you direct visibility into how execution translates into performance.

Compensation & Growth
  • Competitive base salary with performance-based incentives tied to project execution and investment outcomes
  • Opportunity to lead high-impact development projects across a growing, capital-backed pipeline
  • Clear path toward senior development leadership and broader platform responsibility
  • Direct collaboration with investment, acquisitions, and asset management teams, with exposure to full lifecycle decision-making

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • 5–10+ years of experience in real estate development, construction management, or project management
  • Strong understanding of development processes including entitlement, design, and construction execution
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and complex stakeholder groups
  • Experience working with contractors, municipalities, and design teams
  • Strong financial literacy and ability to evaluate project feasibility
  • Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in real estate, construction management, engineering, finance, or related field preferred
